The Professorship for Research on Learning and Instruction deals with research questions within the framework of empirical educational research. We explore how the professional competencies of teachers and general school conditions affect the quality of teaching from an educational-psychological perspective. Our aim is to make our scientific findings accessible to school practice.
Within the framework of our working group ForSynZIB – Research Syntheses in Learning and Instruction at the Centre for International Student Assessment (ZIB), we develop research syntheses on relevant issues in educational research.
Our work is based on empirical educational research. We focus on the teacher and the school and also on the interactions between the teacher, the school, the school administrators and the teaching staff.
